Every Summer for at least the last 300 years or more, the beaches of "Maputaland" (North Eastern KZN) have witnessed an ancient ritual. At the height of the season giant Loggerhead and Leather back turtles emerge from the sea at night to lay their eggs in nests which they dig high up on the beach. The life-cycle of the marine turtle is a fascinating story of a battle for survival against fearsome odds
