Idyllic African Safaris Policies

Waiver and Indemnity     

Please read carefully the Waiver and Indemnity detailed below, which each participant will be required to sign, prior to the commencement of any tour or excursion, before contracting with Idyllic African Safaris. 

Waiver and Indemnity:

hereby acknowledge that I take part in the Tours arranged by  Idyllic African Safaris - a sole proprietorship - (herein after referred to as "the Service Provider") with effect from……………………………………and all functions and events related thereto entirely at my own risk and agree that I and my dependants waive and shall not have, nor shall they institute any claims whatsoever against, and do hereby indemnify and hold harmless from all liability, “the Service Provider”,  and other involved organizations and all employees, agents or contractors of the above (all of which are hereinafter referred to as entities). I further acknowledge that the tour undertaken is not covered by any public liability insurance or any other insurance cover issued by “the Service Provider” in my name, save where insurance has specifically been arranged at my request.

It is further confirmed and acknowledged that the services provided to me by Idyllic African Safaris are limited to that of Tour Guiding, Driving and Tour Arranging and Facilitating.

This waiver and indemnity: includes death, injury, damage to me and my dependants as well as loss of my property and is effective whether or not such death, injury, damage or loss may have been caused directly or indirectly or wholly or partly by any act or omission including negligence, of any of the above entities; and will bind my heirs, executors and/or trustees of my estate and the estates of my dependants. In accepting this indemnity as the parent and/or guardian of a minor I hereby agree to such minor being bound by the aforegoing waiver and indemnity, and do hereby further indemnify the said entities against claims by such minor to the extent if any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his rights as stipulated above.

Should liability be found to exist in respect of any one of the said entities for any reason, then that liability shall not exist in respect of the other of such entities, without specific grounds existing for liability on the part of the other of such entities; and such liability will be limited to the amount of R500.

I hereby confirm that I have read and fully understand the consequences of signing this indemnity and that I was fully briefed by “the Service Provider”, prior to me signing this indemnity, of the cause and effect that signing this indemnity could have on me, my estate and my heirs. I also confirm that this indemnity was signed voluntarily and not under any duress whatsoever.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

We require that 50% of the full cost of the Tour /Safari be paid at the time of confirming the reservation. (This includes a non refundable deposit equal to 20% of the total cost). The balance is due eight weeks prior to DEPARTURE. Payment can be made by credit card, check or bank transfer. Prices are subject to exchange rate fluctuation, billing is done as per the exchange rate on the day of invoice.

Cancellation charges will be levied when guests cancel confirmed reservations. The costs of the cancellation fees will escalate the closer the guests cancel to their departure date. We are generally a long haul destination and most of our safaris are booked six months before departure. If a booking has been made less than 8 weeks prior to departure, the cancellation policy still applies.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

* If a cancellation is made more than 8 weeks before departure  the guest forfeits his/her 20% (non-refundable) deposit,  which will be deducted from the initial amount received (50% of total cost referred to above)

* If a cancellation is made between 4 weeks and 8 weeks, the guest loses his/her initial 50% deposit plus 20% of the total price of the tour / Safari which will become immediately due and payable. (i.e. the guests loses 70% of the total price.)

* If a guest cancels less than four weeks prior to departure, the guest loses 100% of the price ie The remaining 50% balance will be come immediately due and payable.

* Cancellation of any internal flights booked within South Africa are subject to 100% cancellation fee.
